Turning the tides, BIRD profited in September 2022

JAKARTA. PT Blue Bird Tbk (BIRD) recorded net revenue of IDR 2.51 trillion this September, shifting 73.10% year-on-year (yoy) from IDR 1.45 trillion seen in the third quarter in 2021.

In the financial statement issued in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), it was revealed that the taxis contributed the most to the revenue, bringing in IDR 1.97 trillion throughout the first nine months in 2022. Following behind, the net revenue generated by the vehicle leasing business clocked up to IDR 562.20 billion.

Then, as the revenue grew, several expenses also swelled. Direct expenses increased 51.28% yoy to IDR 1.77 trillion, while its operational expenses arrived 17.07% yoy higher at IDR 450.18 billion. In the end, BIRD managed to turn in an operating profit of IDR 287.13 billion compared to the operating loss of IDR 108.65 billion recorded in the third quarter of 2021.

BIRD then successfully scored IDR 260.63 billion of net profit, turning the tale around from the net loss seen in September 2021 of IDR 66.19 billion. Meanwhile, as of September 2022, its total assets rose 1.21% to IDR 6.68 trillion, while its total liabilities clocked up to IDR 1.42 trillion, and its total equity arrived at IDR 5.26 trillion.
