JAKARTA - Indonesia is ready to enter the era of zero emission technology towards green mobility. Efforts to accelerate green mobility include the development of a manufacturing ecosystem that can produce environmentally friendly vehicles with various technological advances.

"So the motor vehicle sector can support the target of Carbon Neutral or net zero emission in 2060, in accordance with Indonesia's commitment in COP 26," said Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita at the signing of the MoU on the Cooperation for the Construction of Public Electric Charging Stations (SPLU) between PLN and ION Mobility in Jakarta, Wednesday (2/11).

In addition, efforts that need to be accelerated are improving electricity charging infrastructure and increasing public awareness of environmental problems in the future so that it is expected to increase sales of Indonesia's electrified vehicles. Furthermore, the Ministry of Industry is preparing the standardization of Battery Pack for KBLBB category L (light vehicle).

“In principle, we support the supply side and ensure that the production of electric vehicles can grow quickly. Meanwhile, other relevant ministries and institutions are preparing the infrastructure. This must be well coordinated so that everything can run smoothly,” he added.

To date, hundreds of recharging facilities have been available in the form of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) and General Electric Vehicle Battery Exchange Stations (SPBKLU). It is hoped that SPKLU and SPBKLU facilities will continue to grow throughout Indonesia. (LM)
