JAKARTA – PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) recorded its total current year’s profit attributable to the parent company proliferating 473.8% to USD 465 million at the end of Q3 2022 from USD 63.7 million seen in the same period in 2021.
Dileep Srivastava, Director of BUMI, mentioned that the profit surge in Q3 was accompanied with the increase in revenue of 66.7% year-on-year (yoy) from USD 3.75 billion to USD 6.25 billion. This increase in revenue resulted from the surge in the coal prices from USD 62.8 per ton to USD 118.7 per ton.
BUMI’s gross profit was also doubled from USD 756.8 million to USD 1.83 billion (yoy), widening the operating margin from 20% to 26%.
Ultimately, its net profit was seen shifting 286.4% yoy upwards, or USD 696.8 million higher, rising from USD 243.3 million to USD 940 million. (LK/ZH)
