JAKARTA – The Financial Services Authority (OJK) will closely supervise the management of funding of Public Housing Savings Management Agency (lit. Badan Pengelola Tabungan Perumahan Rakyat/BP Tapera). This monitoring program is stated in the OJK Regulations (POJK) No.20/2022.
In the press release quoted Wednesday (16/11), Darmansyah, Director of Public Relations of OJK, mentioned that the supervision will include compliance supervision, Tapera implementation, asset management, as well as management and governance. “The supervision will be carried out through annual inspection and analysis, or as much as needed,” he added in the official disclosure.
POJK No.20/2022 is actually based on Act No.4/2016 regarding Tapera. In said regulation, OJK and Tapera Committee are both appointed as external supervisors of BP Tapera.
According to Darmansyah, the recent POJK mandates BP Tapera to submit report to OJK and gives administrative sanction and recommendation to Tapera Committee. “The BP Tapera supervision is expected to create transparency and sustainability, as well as protecting public’s interest,” he added. (LK/ZH)
