Planning rights issue, Waskita Karya awaits PMN funds

18 November 2022 07:43

JAKARTA. The rights issue of PT Waskita Karya Tbk (WIKA), worth IDR 3.98 trillion, will reportedly take place as soon as the funds from the state equity participation (lit. Penyertaan Modal Negara/PMN) arrive.

Wiwi Suprihatno, Director of Finance and Risk Management, claimed that according to the premade schedule, the rights issue will commence between the second and third week of December 2022. It aligns itself with the effective schedule of the PMN funds withdrawal, which amount to IDR 3 trillion.

“Once we receive the money from the government, the rights issue will immediately take place. If we arranged this for next year, the state funds will be forfeited. We have registered [this action] to the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and we have received the form. We also receive help from the underwriter, as well,” Suprihatno explained during the CSA Awards discussion yesterday (17/11).

Suprihatno also hoped that in this rights issue, the public’s portion, worth IDR 980 billion, can be met and absorbed by the market. “This is a great moment to participate. We, as the managing party, are confident that we can improve our performance this year, and it will continue to rise in 2023 and 2024,” he claimed. In addition, he then mentioned that WSKT currently focuses on restructuring its finance and transforming its business with an intention of shaping WSKT as a contractor instead of an operator.
