JAKARTA - After falling far short, the trading volume of foreign investors slightly improved again on Friday, November 18. The volume of foreign purchases reached 2.36 billion shares, while foreign sales totaled 2.28 billion, bringing the net volume this weekend to a surplus of 85 million shares.

Overseas investors bought 230 million shares of PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk (BIPI) so BIPI recorded the highest net volume with 197 million shares. Even so, the highest foreign purchase was made for PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI), which was purchased by foreigners for nearly 340 million shares. BUMI's subsidiary, PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS), also entered the top-buy list because 51 million of its shares were bought by foreign investors. Additionally, 74 million shares of mining issuer PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA) and 76 million shares of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) were purchased using foreign funds.

In contrast, 444 million shares of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) were sold by its foreign financiers. Even though 388 million GOTO shares are still being purchased, GOTO's net volume is negative 56 million shares. Nevertheless, PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL) and PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA) both reported lower net volumes than GOTO, negative 81 million and 60 million shares, respectively.

Two insurance issuers also recorded a negative net volume: PT Panin Financial Tbk (PNLF) and PT Malacca Trust Wuwungan Insurance Tbk (MTWI). Foreign investors sold at least 82 million shares of PNLF and 35 million shares of MTWI, resulting in a net volume of around minus 40 million shares for both issuers.(KD)
