JAKARTA. PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) has recently won an award for the Corporate Risk Manager of the Year in the Energy Risk Asia Awards 2022.
This award had also been received by BUMI in 2021. For the recrd, this award was given by Risk Net, an institution that give credits to innovation and creativity of corporations across Asia in managing risks.
Adika Nuraga Bakrie, President Director of BUMI, believed that this award reflects the company’s successful achievement in managing business risks to keep itself afloat, especially in the middle of geopolitical disputes and global economic recovery post-pandemic.
“The risk management system and culture of BUMI, which has been established since 2008, demonstrates its roles in helping the company to mitigate operational risks, as well as controlling the unpredictability within the business that is triggered by the global geopolitical issues,” Bakrie explained.
Recently, Moody’s Investor Service has changed BUMI’s outlook to “stabl”e from the previous “under review.” This alteration in outlook entails BUMI’s improvement in its capital structure after paying off debts of USD 1.6 billion with the proceeds of the new shares issuance, which had been acquired by Salim Group.
