Bank Mayapada bought ex-Plaza Bali for IDR 1 trillion

28 November 2022 04:44

JAKARTA. PT Bank Mayapada Internasional Tbk (MAYA) has officially acquired the building of ex-Plaza Bali from PT Gatsu Griya Megatama (GGM) worth IDR 1 trillion.

In the information disclosure yesterday (27/11), the management of Bank Mayapada confirmed that the transaction between the company and GGM is categorised as an affiliate transaction, referring to POJK No.42/2020. Dato’ Sri Prof. Dr. Tahir, MBA, one of the controlling shareholders of MAYA, is also one of the shareholders of GGM. However, this transaction is not considered a material transaction and a change in business activity, as the transaction value did not reach 20% of the total equity of MAYA, which reached IDR 13.85 trillion at the end of June 2022.

The company purchased the building from GGM, which initially belonged to Jonathan Tahir, the fourth child of Dato’ Sri Tahir, due to its affordable price. Bank Mayapada will utilise said building as its branch office to support its operational activities.

The entire proceeds will then be redirected back to the company (MAYA) as investment. Therefore, in this case, the company has the upper hand in this affiliate transaction,” the management of Bank Mayapada claimed. (AM/ZH)
