Foreigners purchased 220 million shares of BIPI

JAKARTA - The volume of foreign trade was quite positive on Thursday (November 24). Foreign investors purchased up to 1.75 billion shares, creating a positive net volume of 258 million. Of that figure, 186.82 million was contributed by the shares of PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk after 221.6 million BIPI shares were bought up with foreign funds.

The second largest net volume came from PT Summarecon Agung Tbk (SMRA) with 50.48 million shares, after nearly 57 million shares were bought by foreigners. However, the second largest foreign purchase actually came from PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) at 93.26 million, though the net volume was only 45.5 million shares. Furthermore, international investors purchased 42.25 million shares of PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL) and 34.08 million shares of PT Ciputra Development Tbk (CTRA).

On the other hand, the most sold shares by foreigners this time were ENRG from PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk, with as many as 36.73 million shares. In addition, 22.98 million shares of PT Bekasi Fajar Industrial Estate Tbk (BEST) were also traded by foreigners. Three issuers even recorded a negative net volume equivalent to the number of shares sold, due to tiny number of foreign purchases. First, 31.88 million shares of PT Global Mediacom Tbk (BMTR) were sold to foreigners, then 24.66 million shares of PT MNC Asia Holding Tbk (BHIT) were sold. Lastly, PT Surya Permata Andalan Tbk (NATO) shares were sold by outside investors for nearly 18.23 million without any foreign purchases. (KD)
