Individual investors are busy share-shopping

JAKARTA - Individual investors were busy increasing their ownership in several issuers at the end of November, on Wednesday, November 30. Low Tuck Kwong, the founder of PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN), purchased 250 million shares of the company. This coal magnate now controls 60.93% of BYAN. Furthermore, Edwin Soeryadjaya bought 12.05 million shares of investment service issuer PT Saratoga Investama Sedaya Tbk (SRTG), while Thio Andrianto bought 7.2 million shares of mining investment issuer PT Delta Dunia Makmur Tbk (DOID). Finally, Prodjo Sunarjanto purchased 1.12 million shares of PT Adi Sarana Armada Tbk (ASSA), a transportation service provider.

This time, in addition to individual investors, at least four shareholding companies also increased their holdings. PT Guna Makmur Raya, as the controlling shareholder, purchased 12.1 million shares of PT Guna Timur Raya Tbk (TRUK), increasing their ownership to 63.52%. Interestingly, PT Sinar Mas Cakrawala, as the majority shareholder, which normally sells shares, has now purchased 3.18 million shares of PT Sinar Mas Multiartha Tbk (SMMA). PT Nusa Construction Enjiniring Tbk (DGIK) is still buying back 3 million shares, while Auric Digital Retail purchased 5.49 million shares of PT Matahari Department Store Tbk (LPPF).

On the other hand, no domestic shareholders sold shares, but two foreign investors decided to reduce their holdings. UOB Kay Hian (Hong Kong) Ltd. was the first to sell 2.8 million shares of PT MNC Kapital Indonesia Tbk (BCAP), followed by Bintang Bara B.V., which sold 1.1 million shares of PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk (TOBA).
