BUMI shares overwhelm in negative 1.5 billion shares net foreign volume

JAKARTA - The total net volume of foreign trade dropped to negative 2 billion shares in the second week of December. On Monday, December 5, the foreign purchase volume was 1.715 billion shares, but the sales volume nearly doubled at 3.244 billion shares, resulting in a foreign net volume of minus 1.529 billion shares. Shares of PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) contributed more than half of this total. Foreign investors sold 1,091,999,700 BUMI shares, reducing the net volume to a negative 837,479,500 shares.

Foreign sales of other issuers' shares were also observed to be quite large. With a sold volume of 266.43 million shares and a net volume of minus 198.11 million shares, PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA) is in second place. PT Wir Asia Tbk (WIRG) and PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) also sold approximately 126 million shares each to overseas shareholders. In addition, foreign investors sold 123.71 shares of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM).

On the foreign buying side, 72.28 million shares of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) were the most sought-after by outside investors. Unfortunately, foreigners also released 58.21 million BMRI shares, resulting in a net volume of only 14 million shares. PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL) and PT Bank Amar Indonesia Tbk (AMAR) shares were also selling quite well, with each selling more than 51 million shares to international investors. BULL shares had a net volume of more than 50 million shares, while AMAR shares had 47 million. Foreign shareholders also bought shares from mining companies, including 39.11 million shares of PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk (MDKA) and 19.69 million shares of PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA). (KD)
