Merdeka Battery Materials to grant BPI USD 100 million

JAKARTA – PT Merdeka Battery Materials (MBM) has made a capital investment worth USD 100 million to PT Batutua Pelita Investama (BPI) to optimise business integration in the nickel mining segment.

Quoting the information disclosure today (13/12), Adi Adriansyah Sjoekri, Corporate Secretary of PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk (MDKA), an indirect parent company of MBM, confirmed that after this investment, BPI will conduct its business under MBM’s supervision in the nickel mining and processing sector.

MBM owns 66.4% of the entire issued and paid-up capital of BPI post-transaction. BPI initially recorded an authorised capital of IDR 1.05 trillion, while its issued and paid-up capital amounted to IDR 723.88 billion. MDKA owns 99.99% of them, while PT Batutua Abadi is left with the remining 0.01%.

On the other hand, MBM’s authorised capital reaches IDR 20 trillion, while its issued and paid-up capital clocks up to IDR 7.91 trillion. PT Merdeka Energi Nusantara has a claim over 55.3% of the shares, followed by PT Prima Puncak Mulia of 15.4%, Winato Kartono of 8.6%, PT Prima Langit Nusantara of 5.6%, Hardi Wijaya Liong of 3.7%, Garibaldi Thohir of 4.8%, Edwin Soeryadjaya of 2.9%, Philip Suwardi Purnama of 3.3%, Agus Superiadi of 0.3%, and Trifena of 0.1%.
