Mitratel to acquire fibre optic network of IDR 603 billion

JAKARTA – PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi Tbk (MTEL) or Mitratel, a telecommunication tower provider, has purchased a fibre optic network for IDR 603 billion.

Ian Sigit Kurniawan, Corporate Secretary of Mitratel, claimed that securing another fibre optic network will reinforce the tower business ecosystem. “It will diversify the products and services offered to our users,” he explained in the information disclosure quoted Thursday (22/12).

The transaction took place among Mitratel, PT Trans Indoensia Superkoridor (TIS), and PT Sumber Cemerlang Kencana (SCK). These three parties are not affiliated to one another and have no conflicts of interests.

The purchased fibre optic network is said to span 6,012 kilometres (km).

The ecosystem of Mitratel tower business include the tower leasing, project solution, power-to-power, managed service, edge infra solution, and fibre optic. Some of the users of its fibre optic network service are Telkomsel and XL Axiata.

The company manages 28,206 towers, 11,987 of which are located in Java, while another 16,219 units are spread outside Java. (LK/ZH)
