Acquiring 3 vessels in 2023, Hasnur to invest IDR 180 billion

JAKARTA. PT Hasnur Internasional Shipping Tbk (HAIS) sets the target for acquiring three additional sets of tug and barge worth IDR 180 billion next year to increase the profit margin of the company.

Novian Fitriawan, Director of Finance of Hasnur Internasional Shipping, claimed that the biggest spend of its capital expenditure budget is directed to new vessel acquisition, as it is deemed having crucial and strategic value in order to boost profit margin. "The amount of investment required for one set of barges, including the tugboat and the barge, reaches IDR 50 billion to IDR 60 billion," he mentioned in the public expose treatise earlier today (22/12). Meanwhile, Soma Ariyaka, Director of HAIS, revealed that as of now, his company owns 13 sets of tugs and barges and one additional unit of barge. He further mentioned that 1 of the 3 newly purchased vessels will arrive at the first half of 2023. Therefore, this extra unit in its fleet will speed up the contribution to its revenue. He also added that in 2022, approximately 36%-38% of the transport utilise its own fleet, leaving approximately 62%-64% of the transport with vessel leasing.

By the third quarter of 2022, HAIS recorded revenue growth of 83% year-on-year (yoy) from IDR 296.48 billion to IDR 541.29 billion. Meanwhile, its net profit also proliferated 171% yoy from IDR 28.87 billion to IDR 78.35 billion. (AM/ZH)
