Volta Indonesia builds 200 battery-swapping stations

JAKARTA – PT Volta Indonesia Semesta (VIS), a subsidiary of PT NFC Indonesia Tbk (NFCX) will have realised 200 battery-swapping station for electric motorcycles by the end of this year.

Iwan Suryaputra, Chief Executive Officer of Volta Indonesia Semesta, claimed that the establishment of battery-swapping station will make it easier for consumers to change their batteries. “The location is spread across Greater Jakarta Area, Bandung, Cirebon, Solo, Bali, even Medan,” he specified in the press release quoted Thursday (22/12).

According to Suryaputra, these stations will eliminate the issue of battery that runs out in transit. They will recharge these batteries efficiently and quickly. The stations are developed using solar panel technology that is deemed reliable in the long run.

Next year, the company plans to provide 100,000 units of Volta motorcycles, which will be utilised to realise the clean energy era in Indonesia. (LK/ZH)
