After purchasing 1.13 billion Surya Eka (ESSA) shares, Jonathan Chang now owns 6.6% stake

PT Surya Esa Perkasa Tbk (ESSA), which operates a private LPG refinery and ammonia factory, welcomed Jonathan Chang as a new investor on Monday, April 1. PT BNC Sekuritas Indonesia facilitated this purchase of 1.13 billion ESSA shares, giving Chang approximately 6.6% ownership. Aside from that, a new investor also entered PT Sumber Energi Andalan Tbk (ITMA), a company that provides consulting services in the mining and energy sectors, namely PT Bersama Jaya Solusi. This investor purchased approximately 50.73 million ITMA shares through two securities companies, accounting for approximately 5.08% of the ownership.

On Friday, March 8, over 2.29 billion shares of PT Bank BTPN Tbk (BTPN) were annexed by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation - Equity, the bank's majority shareholder. SMBC had previously owned about 88.52% of BTPN shares, but after this most recent transaction, its ownership has increased to 91.06%. PT Bank HSBC Indonesia was chosen to facilitate the purchase. In addition, Low Tuck Kwong, the controlling shareholder of PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN), acquired 173.02 million BYAN shares. The ownership of this individual investor increased as well, going from 61.61% to 62.12%.

On Tuesday, February 27, PT Majukarya Mandiri Indonesia decided to purchase new shares from two different issuers. At first, this investor purchased 161.37 million shares of the cosmetics and home appliances manufacturer PT Estee Gold Feet Tbk (EURO). It gained control of 6.33% of the company through purchases conducted by three securities firms. Additionally, this investor purchased 62.18 million shares, or 6.22% control, in PT Sumber Energi Andalan Tbk (ITMA), a consulting services provider for the mining and energy industries. This transaction was carried out via four distinct securities firms.

Monday, February 26, which marked the beginning of the final week of February, was signalled by foreign investors who were busy selling shares on the stock market. Starting with the sale of 28.42 million shares of technology issuer PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) by GOTO Peopleverse Fund, it was followed by DB Spore SES CLT A/C For NTAsian Discovery Master Fund which sold 13.37 million shares of financing issuer PT BFI Finance Indonesia Tbk (BFIN). Furthermore, 3.50 million shares of PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi Tbk (MTEL), a provider of telecommunication infrastructure, were sold by Citibank Singapore S/A on behalf of the Government of Singapore.
