JAKARTA - PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk (SMBR) is acquiring a new coal mine to supply the coal demand. However, the management did not deliver any detail information regarding the location the new coal mine.
Rahmad Pribadi, President Director of PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk (SMBR) said the company expects the coal mine to be acquired will supply the coal demand of the company. “We are seeking a coal mine with a very optimal price and suitable grade. We are analysing,” said he, in Jakarta.
According to Pribadi, with this acquisition, its coal will contribute about 50% of the coal demand. If the rupiah (IDR) weakens against the dollar (US$) upon coal export, then the company will more gain. However, export si not a main target of Semen Baturaja. The target of export volume was set only at 70,000 tons of cement. (LK/W)
