JAKARTA - PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (INCO) is seeking partnership strategies to build two nickel mining field in Pomaala, Southeast Sulawesi and Bhadopi, Central Sulawesi.
Nico Kanter, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President Director of PT Vale Indonesia stated that the company are in the process of choosing partner to build a ferronickel field mining in Pomaala and Bhadopi. “We hope that they can finish the feasibility study faster, so we can decide which one we will pick,” said he, in Jakarta.
Kanter refused to disclose more about the strategic partner for the projects. The ferronickel in the mines will be divided based on their class, Class 1 and Class 2 nickel. Class 1 Nickel will be used as a material to build electric car batteries, while the Class 2 nickel will be used to make stainless steel. (LK/AR/W)
