JAKARTA - Governor of Bank Indonesia, Perry Warjiyo stated to maintain the BI 7-day Reverse Repo Rate to be at 6%, the interest rate of deposits facility at 5.25% and interest rate of lending facility at 6.75%. “The decision is consistent with our efforts to reduce the current account deficit to a safe limit and maintain the attractiveness of domestic financial assets,” said he, to the press.
This decision was taken by Bank Indonesia during the Board of Governors Meeting on January 16-17, 2019. The Bank Central also continues to implement the monetary operation strategy to maintain the rupiah liquidity and foreign exchange to stabilise the monetary and financial system.
According to Warjiyo , Bank Indonesia will focus to optimise its policy and synergise with the government (Ministry of Finance) and other stakeholders to keep Indonesia in a stable economy. (LK/AR/W)
