11 December 2015

JAKARTA – PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) can only rely on one mining project, their Newmont Batu Hijau mine site, to generate revenue next year.

Investor Relations of Bumi Resources Minerals, Herwin W. Hidayat told reporters, “The revenue and net profit, really depends on the performance of Newmont Batu Hijau,” at the company’s public expose in Jakarta, December 10, 2015.

Although the company has four major projects, “the only asset that we (BRMS) has that is already in production at this moment is Newmont in Nusa Tenggara,” he added.

The Batu Hijau project operated by the company’s subsidiary, PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara, is a copper and gold mineral rich open pit mine on the island of Sumbawa in Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. It is said to contain 6.4 billion pounds of copper and 6.8 million ounces of gold.

Within the first nine months of this year, the company generated US$9.17 million in revenue and US$8.5 million in net profit. Last year over the same period, the company recorded a net loss of US$86.3 million. Herwin commented that this year was a ‘turning point’ for the company. (CH)
