JAKARTA - Out of the two mill’s that Eagle High Plantations’ 2016 capex (Rp400- Rp500 billion) is devoted towards, one will be developed in Papua. PT Eagle High Plantations Tbk (BWPT) who already has a 12,000 hectare crude palm oil plantation in Papua now plans to add a mill to support production.
“We decided as soon as possible to build a palm oil mill despite the fact that in terms of the calculations, this plant capacity is only needed in 2018 or in starting of 2018, due to the general palm is still too young,” corporate secretary BWPT Rudy Suhendra told reporters.
Even though the plant is not needed until 2018, Eagle High has already started to engage in planning the building of the mill. “We see that this is an opportunity for companies to do business and develop the society who lives over there,” he added. (CH)
