JAKARTA - According to PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR) director Enny Hartati, the company has been pursuing a path of e-commerce over the past three years, even partnering with leading digital platforms.
“Regarding e-commerce, if we compare it with the growth of, let’s say with electronics, it is still small; because we are in the grocery section, but from what we see, the growth is getting bigger year by year,” she commented at the company’s public expose in Jakarta.
Unilever participates with e-commerce leaders such as blibli.com.com and sukamart.com, portals where consumers can purchase Unilever products online and have it shipped to their place of residence.
Over the past few years, Unilever has seen its e-commerce sales grow however not as much as sales in other sectors like electronics says Hartati. The cost allocated for Unilever’s e-commerce operations increases every year, however is still overshadowed by larger company programs such as its children’s campaign. (CH)
