JAKARTA - A new factory of PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk (SMBR) will be ready to operate in the first semester 2017. When in operation, the factory will add to Baturaja’s cement capacity production, which will reach 3.85 million tons.
President Director of PT Semen Baturaja, Pamudji Rahardjo said they are optimistic that Baturaja II’s factory will operate next year. “For now, the building of Baturaja II has been on progress. Its progress is 61% or more than the planned 55% last year,” he said at Investor Day in Jakarta.
The capacity of Semen Baturaja is 2 million tons of cement per year. Where the location of Semen Baturaja factories are in the South Sumatera Province, Panjang Factory in Lampung and Palembang factory, where the capacity production reach 1.2 million tons per year, 350,000 tons per year, and 350,000 tons per year, respectively.
Pudji said they are the market leader in four Indonesian provinces such as Jambi, South Sumatera, Bengkulu, and Lampung. “Even though competitors have entered the market, we are still the leader in the market,” he said. (LK)
