JAKARTA - Despite the decreasing revenue of PT Hero Supermarket Tbk (HERO) during the first semester 2017, their business segment of non-food increased during that period.

President Director of PT Hero Supermarket Tbk (HERO), Stephane Deutsch, said the company’s revenue decreased by 3.9% during the first semester 2017. “Under non-food part we have two digit growth; we were growing 12,2%, and minus 6,2% on the food party,” he said, in Jakarta.

The management is maintaining the company’s expenses to maximizing the company’s
profit for the year.  During the first semester 2017, the company’s operating expenses noted Rp 1.81 trillion, declining than the same period in 2016 as noted Rp 1.82 trillion. This action made the company’s profit for the year noted Rp 71 billion in the first semester 2017.

In other hand, the decreasing revenue caused the purchase weakening in the domestic market. In other hand, the increase of the disruptive innovation, such as online commerce, was giving the  impact on the company’s revenue. Currently, Hero has 32 stores and Giant has 165 stores, the largest comparing to the competitors, such Hypermarket. (LK)
