JAKARTA. Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes at the Attorney General's Office (AGO), Adi Toegarisman, said that until now, his party had found 55,000 investment transactions using stock instruments.

"We are still exploring the facts. The number of transaction has grown from 5,000 to 55,000 transactions, using stock instruments. So please give us time to work. We will be consistent to finish this," Adi said in Jakarta, Monday (13/1).

He said the number did not include transactions using mutual fund instruments. Findings of the Attorney General's Office and the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) showed that Jiwasraya invested heavily in high-risk assets to pursue high profits.

Earlier, Adi revealed that the AGO would complete the investigation of this case within a period of two months. With the new findings, he stated that the settlement process would depend on the results of later investigations.

Until now, the Attorney General's Office has prevented some of the former members of Jiwasaya's management from travelling abroad. The Attorney General's Office is still exploring investment mistakes made by Jiwasraya's management which has caused potential losses to the state of over Rp 13.7 trillion. (AM/AR)
