JAKARTA. PT PLN (Persero) began integrating its tax data to improve the company's accountability as a state-owned enterprise (BUMN).
Sarwono Sudarto, Finance Director of PLN, said that this integration would connect between tax servers at the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) and PLN. Sudarto stated that the purpose of the integration of tax data is to prevent potential tax disputes in each transaction handled by PLN. "So that it can reduce the cost of compliance, as well as becoming access to the BUMN's tax information system," said Sudarto in his official statement on Tuesday (18/12).
Responding to the move, Robert Pakpahan, Director General of Taxes, assessed that this policy would give a signal to PLN's business partners. "Automatically give some signals to vendors or suppliers that the business of PLN must comply with taxation," said Pakpahan.
PLN is the third BUMN that has integrated its tax data with DJP. The company hopes that this step will improve the company's accountability and transparency. (KR/AR)
