10 January 2019 08:37

JAKARTA - Alibaba Cloud, Alibaba Group's cloud computing company, yesterday (9/1) launched its second data centre in Indonesia to answer increasing customer demand. Alibaba Cloud did this by doubling the company's data centre capacity ten months after the launch of its first data centre in Indonesia.

Alibaba Cloud is the only global company providing cloud computing services with data centres in Indonesia. The two Alibaba Cloud centres will provide higher capacity and stronger disaster recovery capabilities, allowing customers to do mission-critical workload in various zones and change zones in seconds.

"Indonesia's Digital Economic Vision has clearly established the direction of our development in the future. Our target is to encourage new decacorns and unicorns, accelerate the growth of at least 1,000 startups, and help at least eight million people in traditional agriculture and fisheries industries, as well as SMEs, to go digital," said Minister of Communication and Information, Rudiantara in an official statement.

With this launch, Alibaba Cloud now has 55 availability zones spread across 19 regions throughout the world. The presence of these two data centres offers a comprehensive range of products and services, ranging from elastic computing, database services, networks, data storage, security, middleware, to various solutions to overcome vertical industry challenges.
