INSA visits Kuala Tanjung Multipurpose Terminal

MEDAN - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) or Pelindo I received a working visit from the Indoneesia National Shipowners' Association (INSA) of the Medan-Belawan Branch Management Board at Kuala Tanjung Multipurpose Terminal (KTMT) on Saturday, January 19, 2019.

The group was led by Chairman of DPC INSA Medan - Belawan, Hendra Kesuma who was accompanied by VP of Pelindo I Institutional Relations and International Affairs, Soraya Siahaan and representatives of PT Prima Multi Terminal, which is a subsidiary of Pelindo I, PT Pembangunan Perumahan, and PT Waskita Karya.

This DPC INSA Medan - Belawan work visit brought a group of around 40 people consisting of several domestic and international shipping lines, including: BBN, Sealand, Maersk, MSC, APL, Cosco, OOCL, CMA CGM, Larsen, Serasi. SSL, MMB, Forcastle, CTP, Heuang-A, Infinity, ICS, and Gian.

"This opportunity, we received a visit from a group of DPC INSA Medan - Belawan at Kuala Tanjung Multipurpose Terminal (KTMT). The purpose of this working visit is to see first hand the operational readiness and facilities at KTMT which have reached 100% progress, explained Soraya Siahaan, VP of Pelindo I Institutional Relations and International Affairs in an official statement.

In December 2018, KTMT carried out the initial export shipment activity using Wan Hai 505 Ship owned by Wan Hai Lines which brought as many as 180 boxes or 205 TEUs through India's Intra Asia direct call route to China. This initial export activity demonstrates the readiness of KTMT facilities and infrastructure to immediately be able to operate fully. (LM)
