BTPN's 2017 Medium Term Notes II is given a Triple AAA rating

JAKARTA - PT Pemeringkat Efek Indonesia (Pefindo) has given Triple-A (AAA) rating for the 2017 Medium Term Notes II of PT Bank Sumitomo Mitsui Indonesia with a value of Rp 1.30 trillion and a time period of 11 February-1 May 2019.

Eneng Yulie Andriani, Corporate Secretary Head of PT Bank BTPN Tbk (BTPN) stated that the rating was given during the special review of 2017 Medium Term Notes II of PT Bank Sumitomo Mitsui Indonesia.  This special review was conducted due to the merger between Bank Sumitomo and PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk (BTPN) on 1 February 2019. "The rights and obligation of SMBCI became the rights and obligation of BTPN," she said as cited of the company's disclosure of information.

Salyadi Saputra, President Director of PT Pefindo stated the rating was given based on the company's financial report in 2018. "The Triple-A rating for the Notes is the highest rating from the Pefindo. The ability of the obligor to fulfil the financial liability of the Bond in the long term is superior compared to other obligors," he added. (LK/AR)
