JAKARTA. PT Pertamina (Persero) has signed a contract for the construction of an oil refinery supporting facility in Balikpapan with PT Hutama Karya and China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co. Ltd.

The contract was signed at Pertamina's Head Office in Jakarta earlier this week. Ignatius Tallulembang, Director of the Refinery and Petrochemical Megaproject at Pertamina, said that the cooperation includes the construction of a 52-inch Submarine-Line Line in the offshore and onshore areas.

In addition, the contract also includes the construction of 1 unit of Single Point Mooring with a capacity of 350 thousand dead weight tons (dwt), and construction of 2 units of tank with a capacity of 1 million barrels. Thus, Pertamina will have an additional crude intake capacity for the Balikpapan refinery.

"After this signing, the next thing to do is the mobilization and Engineering stages," Tallulembang said through a written statement. (KR/AR)
