JAKARTA - M Chatib Basri submitted his resignation as Independent Commissioner of PT Indika Energy Tbk (INDY) following his appointment as Deputy Commissioner of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI).
Chatib Basri previously served as Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) and Finance Minister during Soesilo Bambang Yudhoyono's term as president. He also served as a commissioner in a number of companies, including PT Astra Internasional Tbk (ASII).
Before his term as Finance Minister, Chatib was a researcher at the Institute for Economic and Social Research (LPEM), University of Indonesia. At present, he is also one of the advisers at the World Bank on gender and development. (LK/AR)
