A subsidiary of Gudang Garam will build Kediri Airport

JAKARTA - PT Gudang Garam Tbk. (GGRM), through its subsidiary PT Surya Dhoho Investama (PT SDI), will build Kediri Airport, East Java, which costs around Rp 6 trillion.

President Director of PT Surya Dhoho Investama (PT SDI), Susanto Widyatmoko said that until now his party was still calculating the value of investment for the construction of the new airport. "For the land alone, it is Rp 3 trillion, plus the airport, it can be Rp 3 trillion, but it is still being discussed," Susanto said.

The construction of the new airport, he continued, will use the public-private partnership (PPP) scheme, where all investments are made by private parties.

The airport will be built on a 372-hectare land, 98% of which has been bought. The location is in 4 villages including Tarokan, Grogol, and Bunisari.

Meanwhile, related to the location, the company is waiting for a local regulation on regional spatial plans. The company wants Kediri Airport to become an international airport with a 3,300 meters runway.

The company targets the construction to be completed in 2.5 years, which the plan to lay the first stone on 16 April 2020. (ARM/AR)
