JAKARTA. Petrokimia Gresik will export fertilizer for the first time to a destination outside Asia, which is Mexico.
Director of Petrokima Gresik Rahmad Pribadi revealed this would be the first time for Petrokimia Gresik to export fertilizer to Mexico. "Previously, we played more in Asian markets such as India, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka," Rahmad said in an official statement last weekend.
The member of the Pupuk Indonesia group will export 203,000 tons of fertilizer (125,000 tons of NPS fertilizer and 78,000 tons of urea fertilizer) to India and Mexico next month.
The company stated that the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic did not affect the company's export. It turns out to be an opportunity for the company to increase sales due to reduced supply, since China chose to stop exports of various goods, including fertilizer. (AM/AR
