JAKARTA - PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN) has suspended the operations of its three subsidiaries in East Kalimantan until May 14, 2020 amid the policy of large-scale social restrictions imposed to curb the blow of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The three subsidiaries are PT Bara Tabang (BT), PT Fajar Sakti Prima (FSP), and PT Indonesia Pratama (IP).
In a press release published on Wednesday (15/4), Bayan Resources Director Alastair McLeod said that the suspension was decided in response to the rising number of COVID-19 cases. "Particularly the rising number of people under monitoring for COVID-19 in East Kalimantan," he said.
BT and FSP each hold a mining concession in Tabang, Kutai Kartanegara whereas IP serves as a contractor for the two companies. IP has informed its subcontractors of the operational suspension. (LK/MS)
