Astra announces fourth round of assistance for COVID-19 amounting to Rp 25 billion

JAKARTA - Astra through Nurani Astra distributed the fourth round of assistance in the form of 127,232 daily staple packages worth Rp25 billion to alleviate the social impact caused by the COVID-19 pandemic

Previously, Astra gradually handed over Rp 106 billion of assistance in its initial, second and third round to prevent the spread of the pandemic. With this fourth round of assistance, total assistance from Astra reached Rp131 billion.

"Companies from Astra's seven business lines, namely Automotive, Financial Services, Heavy Equipment, Mining, Construction, and Energy, Agribusiness, Infrastructure and Logistics, Information Technology and Property jointly prepare assistance for this staple food. Hopefully this assistance can alleviate social impacts for the community,” Astra President Director Prijono Sugiarto said in a press release.

Each food package contains rice, cooking oil, soy sauce, sugar, flour, instant noodles, and milk powder worth up to Rp 200,000. The main target of aid this time is the poor and non-formal workers living around Astra Group companies' installations with an estimated distribution of aid packages in stages from April to July 2020.
