JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has shortened the time for the processing of Fisheries Business License (SIU) to three days. This is one of the policies made by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries to boost investment in the fisheries sector during the COVID-19 pandemic this year.
As quoted from a press release on Sunday (7/6), Director-General of Strengthening Maritime and Fishery Product Competitiveness (PDSPKP), Nilanto Perbowo said that his party made some changes, including shortening the processing time of SIUP and developing online-based licensing.
According to him, in the first quarter (Q1) of 2020, the total investment value in the maritime and fisheries sector was recorded at Rp 2.01 trillion, 38.75% higher than its record in Q1 2019 of Rp 1.45 trillion. However, investment growth is expected to slow down due to the COVID-19 outbreak. (LK/AR)
