JAKARTA. The House of Representatives has approved a Rp 149.81 trillion budget ceiling for the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing in 2021.
This was announced at a work meeting between the House's Commission V, the Ministry, and other relevant agencies on Tuesday (15/9).
According to Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, the budget will be used primarily for the government's National Strategic Projects. "We will develop the projects as optimally as possible," Mr Hadimuljono said in an official statement on Thursday (17/9).
The Ministry's 2021 budget is 24.62% higher than its current budget. In 2020, it received a budget ceiling of Rp 120.21 trillion from the State Budget.
The Ministry plans to allocate Rp 58.55 trillion of its 2021 budget for the development of water infrastructure, Rp 53.96 trillion to increase connectivity, Rp 26.56 trillion for settlements, Rp 8.09 trillion for housing, Rp 56.79 billion for human resources development, Rp 757.68 billion for infrastructure financing, Rp 748.29 billion for management support, Rp 101.74 billion for monitoring, and Rp 206.18 billion for planning.
