JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is carrying out the construction of a 8.2 Km Access Road to Patimban Port. Patimban Port as a container port is one of the national strategic projects built to reduce the burden on Tanjung Priok Port which is already very high.

"This access road is a tangible manifestation of the bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Japan with a loan scheme of Rp 1.2 trillion. For this, it must be done and completed on time. Currently, construction progress is reaching 98.3%, and is targeted to be completed on October 30, 2020," said Minister Basuki.

Patimban Port access road is built with 3 types of construction, most of which are elevated (flyovers) above rice fields with soft soil. The three types of structures are a pile slab of 5.9 km, a flyover of 1.6 km, and a flexible pavement of 0.7 km.

Currently, the PUPR Ministry is also preparing to build a toll road that connects the Cipali Km 89 + 125 toll road to the 37.5 Km Pantura section, so that it will be connected to the Patimban Access Road.

The initiators of Patimban Port Toll Access are a consortium between PT Jasa Marga (50%), PT Surya Semesta Internusa (25%), PT Daya Mulia Turangga (10%), and PT Jasa Sarana (10%) with an investment value of Rp 7.5 trillion. For the Patimban Port access toll road, the construction plan will start in January 2022 and is targeted to operate in 2024. (LM)
