JAKARTA. PT Bank BTPN Tbk (BTPN) managed to increase loan disbursement by 6% to Rp 148.8 trillion from January to September 2020 amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The corporate segment was the primary contributor with Rp 89.3 trillion, or 60% of the total loan disbursement. Loan disbursement in the segment was recorded as growing 21%,
According to BTPN CEO Ongki Wanadjati Dana, the bank managed to post loan growth above the industrial average. "This is due to customers' trust in our banking services," Mr Dana said in an official statement on Tuesday (27/10).
BTPN also managed to maintain its loan quality with a gross non-performing loan (NPL) ratio at 1.10% as of September, below the industrial average ratio of 3.22% in August.
In addition, BTPN also collected funding of Rp 149.9 trillion, up 3% year on year (yoy) with Rp 1.5 trillion of net profit in Q3-2020, down 21% yoy. The bank's net profit dropped due to an increase by Rp 1.95 trillion in allowance for losses. (AM/MS)
