04 November 2020 09:06

JAKARTA - PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA) is optimistic that its Good Distribution Practices (GDP) Certification for Pharmaceuticals will help strengthen its cargo services.

Irfaniaputram GIAA's president director said in his press release on Wednesday (4/11) that the GDP certification would help support the company's plan to develop its cargo business. "As a national airline, we will continue to strengthen our cargo services in order to contribute to the effort to handle the pandemic," he said.

According to him, the certification was obtained after PT Sucofindo (Persero), an independent auditor, conducted a series of audits on GIAA's capability of transporting and storing pharmaceutical products.

GIAA has met 180 criteria from the World Health Organization (WHO) for GDP certification, which includes handling of acceptance, storage and delivery of pharmaceutical products, and employee training. (LK/AR)
