JAKARTA - Three small-medium rattan furniture manufacturers ran under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade, CV Nagam Rattan, CV Cipta Abadi, and CV Hanif Rattan, managed to penetrate the market of a number of countries in Asia, America and the European Union.
Agus Suparmanto, Minister of Trade, said In a press release yesterday (5/11), that the furniture produced by the three SMEs will be shipped to the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Australia, France, Germany, Italy and Denmark. "We hope that their success will motivate other exporters so that they can boost Indonesia's non-oil and gas export performance," he said.
According to him, the export proves that Indonesia's rattan furniture can compete and meet consumer demand in Asia, America and Europe. Those markets, he said, tend to want products made from natural ingredients and have timber legality certification (V-legal). (LK/AR)
