JAKARTA. Indonesians currently need low-cost and less time-consuming international money transfer services. This finding was based on a study by the independent survey provider, Jajak Pendapat (Jakpat).
There are 70% of respondents of the said research claiming that the high cost was one of the biggest obstacles in foreign remittance. Then, 70% of respondents felt that the time spent waiting for the deliverance was quite extensive, and 71% thought the transfer cost transparency was relatively low.
On the contrary, there have been many Indonesian citizens using money transfer services. “According to our data, almost 60% of the respondents were using remittance services to transfer money to families or spouses,” Elian Ciptono, the Head of Indonesia Expansion of Wise, responded to the research result.
Therefore, Ciptono claimed that Wise would keep trying to provide international money transfer services cheaper than bank remittance services. “Our mission at Wise is to provide international money transfer service that is affordable, fast, pleasant, and transparent for all customers.”
Wise is one of the global remittance service providers. The service launched in 2011 has reached 80 countries across the world and 10 million users. (KR/ZH)
