JAKARTA. Through the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti), the Ministry of Trade has blocked 105 website domains of illegal commodity futures trading companies throughout March 2021.

Sidharta Utama, the Head of Bappebti, explained that the total blocked website domains have now reached 273 domains since the beginning of 2021. Utama also mentioned that Bappebti partnered with the Ministry of Communication and Informatics to organise this website blocking.

“The supervision and observation should be improved to prevent any potential loss for the public due to the ads offers and promotions in the commodity futures trading sector,” Utama addressed through a press conference.

Meanwhile, M. Syist, the Head of Legislation and Enforcement of Bappebti, asked the public not to be tempted by propositions made by illegal companies. “There are many unscrupulous parties making promises to the people that commodity future trading could give them huge benefits as additional income,” Syist added during the same occasion.

Furthermore, Bappebti also reminded the citizens always to verify the legality of future trading brokers to be chosen. (KR/ZH)
