JAKARTA. The realisation of the budget for the National Economic Recovery (lit. Pemulihan Ekonomi Nasional/PEN) has reached IDR 326.16 trillion. It equals 43.8% of the total capped amount of IDR 744.77 trillion. The Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, relayed the information in an official release yesterday (24/8).
More specifically, this budget realisation comprises the realisation of the health cluster, reaching IDR 77.16 trillion or 35.9% of the total IDR 214.96 trillion. Then, the social protection cluster has realised IDR 99.33 trillion or 53.2% of IDR 186.64 trillion, while the SMEs and corporations support has used IDR 48.02 trillion or 29.6% of IDR 162.40 trillion. Meanwhile, the priority program realisation amounts to IDR 50.25 trillion or 42.6% of the total budget of IDR 117.94 trillion. Lastly, the budget for the business incentive cluster has been realised by 81.8%, amounting to IDR 51.39 trillion out of IDR 62.83 trillion.
According to Airlangga, the total capped budget of IDR 744.77 trillion increases from the initial limit of IDR 699.43 trillion following the Emergency Community Activities Restriction Enforcement (PPKM) throughout Java-Bali in early July. Furthermore, raising the capped value is called for to ensure that PEN still becomes the main instrument for managing healthcare and reviving the economy.
The budget realisation and those programs have provided benefits. They include granting the government-borne income tax relief to 73,970 employers and the government-borne SMEs final income tax to 116,979 SMEs. Additionally, there is also a cutback on the corporate income tax and many others. (AM/ZH)
