MNC Energy to proceed with private placement agenda

17 May 2022 12:01

JAKARTA – PT MNC Energy Tbk (IATA) will issue 1,141,581,211 shares via a private placement soon after July 2022, abiding by the Financial Services Authority Regulation (POJK) that dictated minimum two years’ period between similar corporate action, which previously took place in July 2020.

“The capital increase without preemptive rights or private placement is only available once July 2022 has passed as the company conducted the exact same corporate action in July 2020,” Andi Tenri Dala Fajar, Corporate Secretary of MNC Energy Investama Tbk (IATA) in a press release quoted Tuesday (17/5).

According to Fajar, the reaffirmation regarding this private placement plan also clarified the circulating rumors that this corporate action is about to be cancelled. The capital raise agenda will be further discussed during tomorrow’s (18/5) Extraordinary General Shareholders Meeting.

It is indeed mentioned that the private placement is only eligible to be held once every two years based on POJK No.14/POJK.04.2019. With this corporate action, the company expects to welcome more strategic investors to help expanding the business. “There is no plan of cancellation of this non-preemptive rights capital increase/private placement,” Fajar reiterated.

Earlier today (17/5), IATA is rumoured to annul the agreement regarding the private placement plan to be discussed tomorrow (18/5) in the shareholders meeting. However, the management quickly clarifies this information. (LK/ZH)
