New credit disbursement grew positively in the second quarter

JAKARTA - The Bank Indonesia Banking Survey indicated that new credit on a quarterly basis (qtq) in the second quarter of 2022 grew positively. This is indicated by the new weighted net balance (WNB) of 96.9%, higher than the WNB 64.8% in the previous quarter.

New credit growth is indicated for all types of usage, as reflected in the positive SBT value. In the third quarter of 2022, new loan disbursement is predicted to maintain positive growth, as indicated by the WNB forecast for new credit disbursement at 95.7%.

Credit disbursement standards in the third quarter of 2022 are predicted to be slightly tighter than the previous period. This is indicated by the positive Lending Standard Index (ILS) of 1.9%, different from -0.3% in the previous quarter. Aspects of credit disbursement policies that are predicted to be tighter include credit limit, credit terms, credit risk premiums, and collateral.

The survey results show that respondents remain optimistic about future credit growth. Respondents predict credit growth in 2022 at 9.2% (yoy) or an increase compared to 5.2% (yoy) growth in 2021. (LM)
