02 August 2022 10:04

JAKARTA - In the first half of 2022, Bank OCBC NISP managed to record a net profit growth of 12% YoY driven by an increase in net interest income by 4% YoY and a decrease in allowance for impairment losses by 16% YoY. Not only that, the Bank's main financial performance also recorded positive growth in the first semester of 2022.

The recovering economic activity is also reflected in improving credit demand. At Bank OCBC NISP, overall loan disbursement increased by 10% YoY in Semester I 2022, which was mainly driven by growth in retail banking loans of 15% and business banking loans of 7%.

Third party funds grew by 14% YoY at the end of June 2022 with a CASA composition of 56.7% compared to the total TPF. This composition experienced a rapid increase when compared to June 2019 where the composition of Bank OCBC NISP's CASA was 37.6%.

In addition to carrying out credit disbursement by adhering to the prudential principle, the economic recovery also contributed positively to the decline in the NPL ratio at Bank OCBC NISP. At the end of June 2022, gross NPL was at the level of 2.4% while net NPL was at the level of 0.8%, both of which experienced a decline compared to the same period in the previous year.

“Although Indonesia recorded relatively stable economic growth, global economic growth is predicted to be in the range of 3.0% this year and next year2. Coupled with the continuing war between Russia and Ukraine, uncertainty and the threat of a recession are becoming increasingly difficult to avoid. According to the Ministry of Finance, Indonesia's condition itself is still quite positive, as seen from the government's foreign debt and declining corporate debt. For this reason, we need to remain optimistic and at the same time vigilant in order to continue to seize opportunities amidst the threat of a recession. Bank OCBC NISP itself will continue to maintain positive performance and assist customers in meeting their banking needs so that together we can go far and contribute to the Indonesian economy,” said Parwati Surjaudaja, President Director of Bank OCBC NISP.
