Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Transportation and PT PII support the largest proving ground project in Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia through the Directorate General of Financing and Risk Management (DJPPR) and one of its Special Mission Vehicles (SMV), PT Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia (Persero) / PT PII carries out infrastructure project guarantees with the Government and Business Entity Cooperation (PPP) scheme, namely the Proving Ground of the Roadworthiness Testing Center and Motor Vehicle Certification (BPLJSKB) in Bekasi, West Java.

On that occasion, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that the Ministry of Finance was always ready to provide support in encouraging the acceleration of infrastructure development, to work together to use a variety of innovative financing facilities, which continue to be developed according to the needs of ministries and agencies.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi stated that the development of the Bekasi Proving Ground area through the PPP scheme promoted by the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, could result in more accurate testing of motorized vehicle types and meet international standards, thereby increasing the safety aspect of motor vehicles. In addition, it also supports Indonesia's commitment to control the level of carbon emissions in vehicles, as well as reduce dependence on funding from the state budget.

"With the presence of the Proving Ground as the largest vehicle testing facility in Southeast Asia, it will increase competitiveness, because automotive product trials can be carried out domestically and can be directly exported without having to be tested again abroad. God willing, we will do a groundbreaking for the construction this year," said the Minister of Transportation.

Meanwhile, PT PII President Director M. Wahid Sutopo stated that through the Bekasi Proving Ground project, PT PII fully supports the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Transportation in encouraging the acceleration of infrastructure development, particularly in supporting the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem in Indonesia, as well as reduction of motor vehicle emissions with the mandate entrusted to his party, namely the implementer of the Transaction & Guarantee Preparation and Assistance Facility for the project.
