Widodo Makmur Unggas saw 36.8% profit slippage to IDR 91.1 billion

JAKARTA. PT Widodo Makmur Unggas Tbk (WMUU), an integrated poultry product supplier, only managed to secure a net profit of IDR 91.1 billion until September (9M) 2022.

WMUU’s net profit reportedly went down 36.8% compared to the same period last year. At the end of September last year, the company still managed to score a net profit of IDR 144.1 billion.

The downturn in WMUU’s net profit in 9M 2022 coincided with the weakened sales performance, which only generated IDR 2.05 trillion. In the same period last year, WMUU’s sales were still able to arrive at IDR 2.19 trillion.

Ali Mas’adi, CEO of WMUU, claimed that the company’s depleting performance was a result of the increase price of raw ingredients of fodder, which directly affected the cost of production of WMUU.

“In addition to fodder price, the company is currently focusing on maximising the utilisation of poultry abattoir and minimising the carcass trading portion, which, when combined, ended up dragging down the sales in general,” Mas’adi explained to idnfinancials.com.

In order to maintain the revenue performance, Mas’adi stated that WMUU has continued to create business innovations since the second quarter of 2022. Then, the company also maintains its partnership with China and Singapore regarding poultry product exports. (KR/ZH)
