JAKARTA. Super Air Jet (SAJ) and Batik Air airlines have been confirmed to initiate its first operation in Dhoho Kediri Airport owned by PT Gudang Garam Tbk (GGRM).

For the record, SAJ and Batik Air are airline companies under Lion Air Group. For the record, the owner of Lion Air Group is Rusdi Kirana, an entrepreneur listed as Indonesia’s Richest in Forbes 2019.

According to Donny Novanto, Legal Compliance and Stakeholder Manager of PT Angkasa Pura (AP) I (Persero), SAJ and Batik Air have requested for flight slots in Dhoho Airport. Prior to this, there are 5 other airlines intensely communicating with AP I to fill in slots and routes in Dhoho Airport, namely Lion, Sriwijaya Air, and Citilink.

“For the route approval, we wait for the official document from the Ministry of Transportation,” Novanto mentioned, as quoted by Beritasatu yesterday (7/1).

AP I has made sure that SAJ and Batik Air will be able to start operating in Dhoho Airport at the beginning of this year. Despite not having any official statement, Regent of Kediri, Handhito Himawan Pramana, once mentioned that Dhoho Airport will begin operating on January 15, 2024. (KR/ZH)
